Finish production

The finish route continues through handling and packing

Pretreatment, racking, coating or treatment, curing where applicable, appearance review and surface protection are planned as one route. Exact steps vary by the selected finish and project specification.

Specification and acceptance

Turn the finish name into a usable production requirement

A finish name alone does not define the result. The approval package reference, visible faces, protected interfaces, inspection method and packing condition should be agreed together.

    Mark primary visible faces, permitted racking areas, cut edges, cavities and areas hidden after installation.

Which finish routes can be reviewed?

Projects can be reviewed for anodizing, electrophoretic coating, powder coating, PVDF or fluorocarbon coating, wood grain transfer, mechanical polishing and chemical polishing. Availability and production route are confirmed against the actual part and specification.

How should I specify color and appearance?

Provide the applicable color reference, gloss or texture requirement, visible faces and any available approved sample.

Should finishing happen before or after fabrication?

The sequence depends on cutting, machining, welding, visible edges and the finish system. Send the completed component drawing so these operations can be planned together.

Can appearance vary between parts or batches?

Alloy, substrate condition, geometry, process and viewing conditions can influence appearance. Define an approved reference and acceptable range when visual matching is important.

Are fixed film thickness and test values available?
